Hey guys,

We'll be starting a fish of the month club/competition the first of March.

It's gonna be pretty straight forward. Any fish counts. You can submit as many fish as you'd like. We'll keep all weighings a secret until the end of the month, don't worry.

Each month's winner will receive a prize, and have his fish pic mounted in a plaque in the shop. Each month, the old picture will be replaced. We're gonna start an archive book to file the retired winners photos and possibly stories.

Anyone who brings in a fish to get weighed will receive a consolation gift of 10% discounts for the remainder of the month. (Discount not applicable to sale items) Opaleye don't count! And please don't bring any tiny fish guys.

I think we're gonna judge fish based on more than just weight; a 10 pound Calico beats a fifteen pound white or yellow, and other things of that nature. Lobster count too, when in season. If you have a gnarly story, that'll weigh in too.

If you guys have any recommendations for the rules or anything at all, let us know. Otherwise, consider it ON starting Monday! Let's see some big fish guys!

Sounds like a great idea. If you wanted an objective standard, you might make the winning fish the one that is the greatest percentage in relation to the current California spearfishing record fish.

I wish I lived closer to San Diego, this sounds like a pretty fun thing to do. Good luck!

This makes the most sense!

Anyone submit anything yet?

Yeah, we got 50 WSB so far this week. :D

But seriously, no. We're halfway through the month and are nowhere near a winner. If we don't get a few submission we might just roll it over 'til next month. Maybe better weather will be more inspirational.

End of the month, what happened?

That's a good question. We're on hold for a couple of days hefe. The biggest fish in our camera's your measly 60 pounder! If I don't get ahold of a pic from Dave's 63, it goes to you.

He was gonna donate his prize to the OOF raffle - but no pressure :D

Gimme a day or two.

Thanks guys.

Dave won this one, I haven't gotten a fish yet, I am hoping to try my luck up in Laguna. Maybe I can find a nice fat gravid halibut! I need a 25lbr for my Toby.
