There will be a FREEDIVE ONLY division in the St. Pete Open this year. It is a new concept. One of the speedo wearing SPUCs will lay out the details here shortly. I can't wear a speedo or hold my breath, so I am not worthy....:D
J/K.
Seriously, there will be trophies awarded for the Freedive division.
Loosely: If you elect to participate in the Freedive Only division, you can only freedive for the entire tourney. You will have your scoring done with one fish in each category.
You must declare Freedive Only on your registration form.
You will go to the prize table based on the order in which you finish in the overall SPO scoring.

Can you still take a 1st place category trophy if you freedive?

Rob,
Yes you can win first place hogfish for example and first place freediver. You would win two trophys but only go to the table for your largest fish.

Smack talk already. Love it!!! Who's next? I ain't opening my mouth to save my life. Freedivers do some damage to the leaderboard and I have this feeling there will be LOTS of smack. I'm just hoping to make down for the festivities.

Les,
Sure hope you can make it down for the spectical.
If you had fun at the Spearboard, you will surely have fun at the St. Pete Open to!
You really never know what will come to the scales.
Last year a 17 pound hog took first place.
Thats a minnow by S.C. standards.
But, several years ago that wouldnt have even placed in the top eight!
About four or five years ago a guy brought a 80 plus pound carbo to the weigh-in. It was third!
Sheepshead and cuda catagory are always wide open and are almost always won by an innshore freediver or an East coaster.
Lobsters? Some big boys are brought over from the East coast .
A lot of winners have come from our Miami friends to!
One thing is for sure. You WILL have fun and you WILL meet a lot of great shooters!

As I write this, details are being finalized for an extra way to win if you participate in the Freedive Division of the St. Pete Open.
There will be a drawing for ONLY the freedivers entered in the tournament to win a huge prize.
Ill let you know the prize soon.;)

Heh heh. Classic. " I am with big one" Might need to quit watching those home movies Sasa.
Anyway I wondered if anyone had room for another freediver for the Open. I think I can make it now that my Keys trip was ruined by Charley. I can drive too if need be.

Ed,
How do you like the Dorado?
I have seen them advertised, just never in person.
Well built?
Ride?
Fuel Consumption?
Just curious, they look like good boats.

Oh yes. Mr. Dookie talks some smack, but the only fish he will weigh will be the ones I let swim by or the ones my fish puke up. I am pumped lets do this thing! I am big one!

Let me just remind the three of you that i know where you live(El duke i may have trouble finding your card board box after the hurricane) and i will find you. If you aren't going to name yourselves team Clean Sweep I think Team CAmeron would be appropriate. Kick ass guys and you know i wish i was there. I am guessing the Freedivers are going to suprise the Yellowbacks this year. Dive safe and I'll be back the end of September. Hopefully i can make the pilgrimmage to Indonesia before i come home and take the lives of some tuna. Let me know the results.
Nole!! Way to go man! As long as we keep GR from winning year after year i am happy. Hopefully it will work out next year so we can hit HAtteras together. See you all soon.

Hey Cabin Boy,
Who let you out of your rubber suit long enough to get on a computer?? Don't you have some br"ass" to polish?
After the Red Tide gets done with your secret wrecks, you will be shooting at juvenile snappers for the next five years.:D :D

Only reason Nole won in Hatters is because I did not make tournament. When I moved to US it was like half of Europe moved with me (due to size of my ego).
Hey, Cam nice to hear from you. I am glad that you got up from you knees to drop some comments on spearbord. We know that you are working on that Capitan’s job but remember if you do not swallow you are not going to get it (remember Exxon and Alaska, he swallowed).
We miss you man. Come over with good video and better stories.
Wish us luck!!

The reason i have so many good spots is i keep sinking these things in secret spots. how great would it be to have this as wreck no one knew about. I'm guessing the final jump to Captain will never come if i run this big girl aground. My boat's bigger than yours. This is her high and dry, (thankfully not do to my navigation skills) in Singapore today. The Propellor alone is 32 tons and 24 ft. Team Blocked Shot is out raping your spots as i right this in preparation for the weekend guys. Blake, you have no chance. Last i checked a 1.8 lb Triggerfish won't win the tourney. Luckily for GR there is a Sheepshead Category so he can continue his reign as the king of the farm animals. El Duke... Just go easy on the really shiny Jacks, there is no category for them in this one.

Hey Cabin Boy,
We came up with a little toon just for you...........
"The cabin boy, the cabin boy, the dirty little ripper, he lined his ass with broken glass and circumsized the skipper"
You might want to stay over seas a little longer. Your secrect spots have been officially hit by The Red Tide. I figure in about a year you will have some nice two pounders to practice on.
Love always,
G.R. , Blake, Sasa:D :D :D
