northern Oregon

I will be spending some time not too far form your beautiful coast in the month of June and was wondering if you guys can share some info with me. I will be in Portland and I hear it is about an hour and a half from the coast. I did a quick search for posts in the area and did not find too many.

What I would like to know is what I can expect to get at that time of year, water temperatures, vis range, shark situation and anything else you would like to share.

And if anyone wants to meet for a dive, I’m super down.

Fits, most of the fish will be black rockfish, or lingcod, viz will range from 1'to10', water temps will be in the low 50's and never had problems with sharks, they usually just mess with the surfers. If diving from shore best spots would probably be Garibaldi, North jetty, Netarts, or the Newport area.

As I've been warned, be careful at Netarts with all of the boat traffic out there crabbing. Has anyone gone spearing off Warrenton (like the west side of Ft Stevens) just south of the mouth of the Columbia??

Get in touch once you're here. The diving situation is kind of hit or miss on the Oregon Coast. It can be pretty good, there are quite a few fish when you can see them. Look at the tide charts and try to find days where there are long slack tides and plan on calling in sick those days. And bring a warm wet suit!

FITS I AM waiting FOR you BABE...call me 1-347-459 0068 you are a good spearo 3 months should be nothing for you.. the bass are only in 20 to 30 some even 10 feet .. how about ducth springs for some warm ups ...call me ....

I was just in the Portland area for a week, didn't go spearfishing though, or even fishing for that matter.
