what thickness rubber is that and what are the respective lengths of the cord and rubber? nice tutorial, very explanatory

Thanks! I made one just for fun to use with the dog leash. It gives the pup a 'soft' hit if she pulls when tied up, while I'm in a store.

3/8", I usually give myself ample "working" line, but it all boils down to how much stretch you need to engage your shooting line to the release, for me a 1" stretch is more than plenty to keep my line tight to the barrel. You can have a 3"-4" rubber with about 5-8" of line inside. hope that helps....ah and yeah you can use it as a dog leash too;)

you can use pretty much anything- that is dacron, dyneema etc., 300# on up, keep in mind with this method you actually double the line so 300 ends up as 600#...in the pix its dyneema about 1.2 and about 300# if my memory dun fail me
