Hi Tom, Trying to find some buddies from the jax area who wanna do some spearfishing. I have a boat and I have a friend who runs me out with some dive buddies, but they are not into the sport. Let me know of some people and numbers...thanks!!!

Hey Dirkpitt,

I can't speak for Tom, but did want to see if you could clarify something about your post - were you asking for Tom to give you names and telephone numbers of charter customers so that you could take them out with you instead, or did you want customer names and some numbers for highly productive dive locations out of Snead's Ferry?

Not trying to take business away from anybody. I do not even have a USCG Captain License, so therefore it would be unlawful for me to even charge someone gas money to go out. I am in it for the fun and fish. Trying to get up with Tom to see if there were any people around the Ferry who does alot of spearfishing, because I know of none. I want to get get a buddy to go with me because I do not dive alone. Not trying to steal business LOL. I make quite enough money in my present job.

Dirkpitt, You have one on the best spearfishermen I have ever also knows the area as well as anyone living meet right there. He keeps his boat there in sneadsferry. I lived up there some years ago and he and I shot the shit out of the fish. Talked with him the other day and he has not slowed down. I'm going to call him today, I'll see if it's ok to give his name out, ( only polite), but I'm sure it's ok. I'm trying to get up there with my son latter this month, maybe we can meet up and bust open a cold one.

Dirkpitt, I was not trying to be confrontational, and should have added that Tom is the type of person that would do anything in his power to help anybody that needed help. From your post, it was not clear to me what you were asking of Tom.

Having re-read your post, I still am unsure what you wanted, but you clarified your intention with your follow up posts. I will offer this...it seems that you may be suffering from some of the same things that I do from time to time - seeking other people to dive with, particularly those that like to spear. That being the case, and again, not speaking for Tom, but being a charter captain, his focus may be more on putting paying butts on the benches of his boat and not so much on connecting people up as dive buddies.

All that being said, if Tom reads this and comes across anyone looking for dive buddies around Sneads or Jax area, he will probably tell them to look you up.

Gumshoe ...its cool man, just had a bad morning and your post caught me wrong. Yeah, I am always looking for buddies to dive with. I wasn't trying to be an ass. if I came off that way.....I'm sorry. And Don B, Hell yeah, look me up and lets do some fishing, in fact anyone look me up and lets do some fishing. A few places here in the Ferry to blow the frost off a cool one. I'd read your post prior to Gumshoe's response and interpreted it the same way he did, so I just didn't respond(I don't believe anyone who's in the service business will tell you it's smart business to send your customers to someone else). Once my trips are full, I normally refer everyone to another charter business in Sneads Ferry(Don B's friend) as I know they will be put on the fish with them. The best info I can give you is to spend some time around New River Marina, you'll run into the shooters in this area there.

Your buddy told me earlier this week that you were going to try to come up and we'd plan to go out some out of both Sneads Ferry(his boat) and Carolina Beach(my boat).
