Capt. Jay at dock with catch... Sweet day for weather and fishing!!
10-05-2002, 09:01 PM
Today's catch.. 12 keeper grouper, 15 hog snapper, 3 spanish mackeral.. and we kept two big Key west grunts.. We lost as least 4 or 5 20 plus pounders to the rocks... Great day, and they hit on half sardines.. Like always my favorite bait.. even over Live bait!!!!
10-05-2002, 09:03 PM
There is nothing like a 32 mph ride home like the conditions we had today.. Smooth and Sweet!!
10-05-2002, 09:05 PM
What was the vis and how deep were you diving?
10-05-2002, 09:08 PM
Yes, what's the vis and at what depth? Thanks for the report.
10-05-2002, 09:17 PM
We dove 40 foot out of bayport and the vis was 25 foot.. much better than I thought it would be with all the storms we had last 2 weeks.. Also spanish mackeral are EVERYWHERE.. we even caught 2 of them grouper digging on the bottom.. Go out tomorrow if you can.. and looks like there is lots of keepers in 40 foot or less.. Last year this same date I hit the same spot I hit today and limited out then.. so I would say the fish are starting to come closer to shore, if not already in.... Capt. Jay
