Here a spin off of CD thread, I have a feeling most FL divers are going to have to get their fix on the board this weekend. Here one I got solo beach diving no kayak..

After years of doing fine on large stingrays, Stan informs me that if you shoot em in the tail, you will hit the spine and roll em. This day was really ruff, the current was stong as shit and the viz sucked. I shot this 141lber in the tail and came up about 50yards behind the boat. My legs were so swollen getting him back to the boat, I almost couldn't walk. I don't allow floatlines and paid for it this time. Afterwards we bailed all the water out of the boat and had a good trip.
"Still Floating' has earned it's name many times over.
The proven technique is to shoot em in the flap of meat infront of their head and walk em to the boat like a dog.
Glad the storm went east, I'm going in the gulf tomorrow.

Man, that is a massive stingray. You guys have a got some big ones pulling the trigger on something like that, especially around an oil rig.

Here's one of a halibut a friend shot on the fly in under 5ft of vis. The tail shot held, but after he tracked the fish down and brained it, the shaft fell out once he brought the fish to the surface.
