John Hiene is kind of a modest guy, so I'm tellin the story. John, Mary (Shell Lady ), and friends worked Steinhatchee this season. After a minimal find day, John was able to wrangle some secret numbers from a local after plying him with some brewskies at the local tavern. The next day at one of these locations, John encountered and eventually subdued a monster scallop in 7 fsw. John said he was suprised by the speed and evasive moves the bivalve had but that he finally rolled him with his third shaft. The scallop reportedly weighed 28#s and had a shell span of 32". John has promised to post pictures in the near future!!! :D
