LEVEL 2 FREEDIVER

ARE YOU ALREADY COMFORTABLE IN THE WATER HOLDING YOUR BREATH?
MAYBE YOU'RE LOOKING TO EXTEND YOUR BOTTOM TIME, OR GO DEEPER?
This four day course is perfect for spearfishermen, scuba divers and freedivers whom are already familiar with and confident in the open ocean. We will show you during this class what you can do with your natural inborn physiology and teach you the techniques to unlock them!

Throughout this course you will be instructed in and finally assessed on:
• » Intermediate static apnea technique development and skills
• » Confined water static apnea safety, rescue and buddy supervision techniques
• » Freediving specific equipment
• » The physics and physiology of freediving
• » Psychological aspects of freediving
• » Freediving training and skills development
• » Open water rescue skills, buddy supervision and self evaluation

Participants will be encouraged to take a 30 minute test on course completion to gain Level 2 certification card. This is required to advance in further freediving training.

Courses run over 4 consecutive days and include a total of 10 hours classroom instruction, 3.5 hours of confined pool training and 3 half days of open ocean training.

The F.I.I. Level 2 has a maximum depth limitation of 40 meters (132 feet).

LEVEL 1 FREEDIVER

WANT TO TAKE YOUR SNORKELING SKILLS TO THE NEXT LEVEL?
Get up close and personal with those corals you've been gazing down at from above? Perhaps you'd like to cross-train for SCUBA by learning oxygen-efficient breathing techniques.
Level I Freediver students typically come to the Program having relative comfort in the water, but limited or no experience with basic equipment or with breath-hold diving. Many have encountered ear pressure difficulties or other problems which have held them back in the past. The F.I.I. Level I Freediver Program is a 2-day course designed to introduce swimmers and snorkelers to the skills required to move below the surface. Freedive safely, comfortably and confidently to maximum depths of 66 feet (20 meters).
