Hello everyone,
I am planning a hunting trip with Apexpredator to Panama in January. I have hooked up with a guy over there and the trip info is below. We have 5 more spots available. Please IM me for more info:
Thanks for your inquiry about "Isla Ensenada" freediving and spearfishing
I will try to give you a description: The Camp has been open to diving for two years.Originally(and still is) it started as a surf camp ,that has been operating for 7 years.I have been invited by the owners to bring in spearfishers(breathold)during the dry season(Dec-April).This is the time of year that the swells and storms are pretty much over. This provides the best visibility in the water, and the least currents at the Pinnacles.
We have a very wide variety of spots to dive at,and discover more almost everyday we are in the water.I have dove spots that I was probably the first human being to do so.Beautiful pristine reefs and incredible bluewater pinnacles. This place is truly an adventure waiting to happen!
The fish species that I have seen ,uhu's,trevally(omilu)big triggers(cochino)surgeonfish(cochinoto's) really nice cubera snapper and grouper. We also have some bigger species like Wahoo,Mahi,Rooster fish(Pez Gallo),I have gotten smaller tuna, but not any bigger ones yet,and I have seen sailfish.
The camp is located in the frontier region of Panama(Chiriqui)next to Coasta Rica.one of us picks you up at the airport, and put you into a hotel for the nite. The next morning we get you on a charter bus that takes you to the village near the port, then you take a short truck ride to the boat, and finally a 45 minute panga ride to our island. My price includes everything except your travel to Panama City, and any meals you eat before you get to the camp.
Cost are per person 650.00 usd for 7 days. Everything included except airfare.
