Hi, Eric. Welcome to spearboard. Give more information about what fish you want to shoot. Do you line shaft or free shaft? I assume you line shaft. I don't shoot JBL, but maybe some guys that do can help.

Originally produced by Voit in the 1960s, the tooling for the basic gun hasn't changed much over the years.

They are relativly inexpensive, have a safety reputation second to one, and give good service in medium to light band strength service. If using heavy bands go with the XHD trigger series for better trigger life.

The "tube" size on the guns is either small (about 16mm I believe)or large 1.25" tube(32mm) tube. The larger tube has better service life in most situations.

I had a Woody Magnum for a while. Worked well for me; only downside I noticed was that it won't take Biller shafts. When you're the only one on the boat with a JBL, better make sure you brought your own spares!

I don't think you're allowed shameless plugs when you're late on your dues!;) ;)

Do you have a dealer in Israel, Kevin? I think Eric could be a trend setter there! The first free shafter!
