Went out with Spearo-fla on Saturday and his good buddy Speedy. I had a great time exploring a new area and meeting a new spearo friend. I am currently writing a story recounting our outing but till that is ready here are a few pics. Happy hunting!!

Good going guys! I tried to get in the water Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but boat problems stopped me each time. How as the vis?

Gerald we left from Port Everglades by the 17th street causeway. Every fish on the trip came from a single spot. If the viz had held we could have shot till our lungs gave out. Tried a single shallow drop on our way in. The viz was so bad that I hit bottom at 14ft with the tip of the gun before I saw it. The first drop was in 54ft of water. You had to drop through a layer of murk but after dropping about 20ft you could see the bottom. the viz really deteriorated once the tide started going out (down to 15-20ft). Had a real blast with some very talented spearos.

Apex don't get so specific on the spot! Gee, now it will be a nomans land. Fish were plentiful, diving was great. I had a upset stomach from a protein drink, but other then that it wasn't a bad 5 hour outing.

...about that John. I still think that it would be hard to find the spot by just telling folks we left from Port Everglades. It is a big ocean and I think folks would be hard pressed to find it by just knowing where we put the boat in. I would never betray someones confidence by giving away their hard earned spots. I assure you I feel priviledged to have been invited along and your secrets are safe with me. Thanks again for a very memorable outing and I look forward to doing it again sometime soon. I will send you the pictures in their uncompressed format for your web site if you like. Send me a pm and I will forward them to you (the originals are much crisper than what I posted). I am also writing a story. As soon as it is ready I will shoot you a message so you can check it out. (I will be sure to omitt anything that may betray our location on the story also). Happy Hunting!!...EMIL

To late Emil, the damage has been done. I know exactly where that spot is :)
Nah for real though nice haul for SoFla. I hope to tag a long next time around. Next time I have to choose between a dolphins game and diving the choice will be an easy one...

Yeah, tell me about it. That game sucked ass. I had tickets given to me and would've felt like an ass for showing up... Next time there's no question on what action to take... FIEDLER SUCKS!

3rd pic down, guy in orange shirt, left hand.. Looks like some kind of angelfish. I see lots of these inshore, are they good eating? They seem like they'd be easy pickings, I see them in groups of 6-10 and they never seem to concerned at my presence.
