It’s time for The Great Lake Pontchartrain Sheephead Rodeo...!!!
The rodeo will start at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2004. The scales will open for weigh-in at 2:00 p.m. that Sunday. The scales will close at 4:00 p.m. sharp that Sunday. Everyone is invited to participate in the rodeo. Fish can be taken either scuba diving or free diving. The competition zone for the rodeo is all of Lake Pontchartrain. There will be 2(two) categories this year: sheephead and miscellaneous. There will be prizes for 1st thru 3rd places in each catagory. There will be a fish fry, food and drinks at the weigh-in. The weigh-in will begin at 2:00 p.m. The weigh-in will be held on the lakefront in the parking lot nearest Franklin Ave. on Lakeshore Dr. (Behind UNO Lakefront Arena) Tickets are on sale now through end of business on September 18, 2004. Tickets are $15/person through September 15, 2004 and $20/person until September 18, 2004. These tickets entitle you to enter your fish, eat, drink and win a prize. For those who would just like to participate in the fun and food, tickets are $10/person. Tickets can be purchased only through:
