times and paid 140$ well i am not fixing it again. :)
now i am free diving (im a beginner i can dive like 25 feet)
i would like to have a powerfull band gun that can take
a nice grooper mainly and some time an amberjack - big one
now in special sell i can buy any xhd jbl speargun

Ahoy Eric!

Most freedive hunters would want a gun that floats after the shaft is fired. I think that most JBL guns sink except maybe the woody guns. You may want to get a euro gun like a Sporasub or a Omer for that price range. How much visibility do you have in the area your hunting? You should try to get the longest gun you can use given the water clarity as a band guns power is proportional to the length of the band stretch and shaft weight:)

JBL tube and wood guns float without a shaft.

They are good reliable guns. At that price I'd get one! The muzzle and trigger on the XHD series go for that in the states as parts!

I like the sawed of magnum, but any JBL tube gun can be customized for length pretty easy simply by replacing the tube with fairly readily available (over here) tube, adding seal plugs to the tube and getting an appropriate shaft.

Freeshafters do loose shafts and fish, but have a bit more range. Tradeoffs are a fact of life.

I've had several wishbones break but never had one seriously nail me. OTOH I do wear gloves most of the time:D Soft wishbones can be dacron (Riffe), kevlar, or stainless steel cable. A JBL shaft takes a bit of "hand work" to add a sight radius to wishbone notches and deepen them a bit if you intend to use any type of soft wishbone. It's not a real problem if you don't mind spending an hour or so with a small abrasive stone or toolmaker's files. Slightly rounding the notch edges also makes a hard wishbone less likely to break, but the soft ones will cut on the factory notch edge fairly quickly.
