A few years ago I was on a private boat that dropped me on a pile of I beams loaded with mangos and sheepshead. Only thing I know was somewhere south east of st augstine inlet. There is a Barge next to it, I never saw the barge. Anyone know of the site or have a little more info?

Hey Finch,
How far south? That sounds like a spot off of St. Aug. Beach...about 2 miles more or less. You can see the pier from the spot and its pretty shallow. Viz has been about 4-5 feet both times Ive dove it.

26 miles from the bouy. someone shared:toast: I dove it once. Had about 30 foot of vis could have limited on mangos flounder and sheeps if ide been a better shot/ more comfortable in the water. I had just started shooting. now need to find stuff around it. closest thing I have to it is about 8 miles.

someone shared some numbers that they think maybe it. roughly 24 miles south east of inlet lined up with top spots map and nothing in area *5 miles range* depth of 80 feet.

Dove it probably 5 years ago.3 of us diving we werent anchored and all went in at reletively the same time. the other 2 made it to the barge I never did I just saw the I beams. So I assume the barge is farely close to the I beams.

Halusky from the flagler county website says its 109 reef balls

This thread is too amusing for me. Down in the keys there were very few spots that were "secret." It seems like just about all of the decent to good spots are somewhat secret up here.

even the published numbers are secret. what blows my mind is everyone and their brother dives fish etc in the keys and south florida. you have maybe 5-10 miles of usable depths before the bottom of the ocean falls off here you can go 75 miles and only be in 160 thats alot more ground to cover and 1 in 50 people might head out.

A lot more fish up here and there are still secret spots in the Keys altho Barney covered a lot of the wrecks on the Atlantic.

ALOT more fish is an understatement there are more fish on each site even puplic numbers like 9 mile. Only thing we dont have is easily access to reefs they seem to be the true prized possesion. off south florida and keys you go out a half mile to 3 miles and zig and zag a little and find a reef here if you dont have it you wont. unless you spend your time with a lot more zigging and even more zagging.

Yeah right....you guys keep up this BS and people will actually come up here expecting to kill fish....Other than a big bug or two, the only thing I have found off of St aug or Jax is a few spades and a bunch of Lionfish...

Just ask SAFMC

Hey Tony been a while.

I have so many freakin numbers since the last 20 years I get confused where stuff is much less what it is called.

My limit for diving is 100 ft and on Nitrox. I've lost 48lbs so I'm thinking about diving more this year with the doctor's clearance.

A good beginners dive is probably standish reef off st auggie for fun. catch the vis it can be a good dive where one could experience shooting lion fish and spades :)
