Hey guys.... My father and I are going to make the crossing to Bimini in the begining of June. We are staying at the Bimini Bluewater Hotel. I have never been there but we are making the crossing with two other boats with people who have. Problem is they don't do much spearfishing. They are not "Financially Strained" even with gas prices reportedly being right around three dollars a gallon in Bimini. They like to troll for pelagics all day.....thats cool with me but i say if the fish aren't cooperating why not go in to the reefline and get some reef species.......Anyways i was just looking to get some info on legalities of spearing in the Bahamas....heard Bahamian jails really suck. Also any tips on polespears recomended?? I heard that you cant have trigger mechanism,, so guns are out thanks in advance for any info>>>

Go to http://www.abaco.tv/bahamas-fishing-regulations.asp for a summary of the regulations. In short: no tanks, no guns (polespear & Hawaiian slings OK) & no lobsters in June
