Besides shooting in R5 for HD and no vignetting, what are the optimal settings for underwater video?

I like using r3 mode or 720p at 60fps. It seems to work well and it perfect if you need to slow something down.

i agree. r3 is the best but its only really worth it if whatever editing program you are using can handle the 60 fps.

r5. R3 makes everything look too far away

I can not seem to get the fish bowl effect to go away on above water pictures. Could this have to do with the flat lens?

You can purchase the flat lense form Mako and replace it yourself for I think around $15 or buy a whole new case from EyeofMine that has the flat lense built in for $79. I personally think the wide angle lense(fisheye) looks better above water but underwater it sucks. Flat lense makes the quality even look better under water.

I currently have the flat lense in the gopro. Maybe that is the problem with my above water pictures. Will change out to the factory lense and see if that makes a difference..

found the fix. Gopro pictures will all be distorted. However there is a free program out there that undistorts the pictures..

Open you picture with the above program then click the slider to the left, your done.

Also another very good thread discussing fixes for the fisheye...
