We dont see many of these here in our waters, this one had been shot before and survived, it was some 4 pounds, and it hard for me to identify it.
Does any of you what is is for sure?
Thanks in advance guys.

looks like a deformed black to me. Maybe the original shot messed him up enough to look a little different.

Maybe it's just the photos that make the proportions look off, but I'd guess that the old bite (or shot) caused it to grow a little deformed. Definitely looks like a black.

Good point. If you want a positive ID, don't fly it to Florida. :D

Ha,ha,ha, You guys are always a blast.
Well, it looked to me like a scamp at first,
but then I thought it was a black, so I decided
if I was thinking is because I did not know.
Our laws are not the same as yours, but we do have a
federal law, just like yours, it starts at 9 miles from the
island, I understand yours is 3 mile.
We cant fish for Jew fish (Goliath), nor Nassau, we dont have reds,
we dont have gags.
Looks like some of you guys are sure its a black, so
I will go along with it.
