Recenty I made a handle for my GoPro with Jordan(LJspearfisher) out of PVC pipe, fittings, and plumbers tape. It was quite easy to make and really cheap. First I got a piece of threaded S 80 PVC pipe. Then I got a fitting that makes the 3/4 in. PVC pipe into a 1 in. in diameter. After I had 1 in. on the top piece I attached a 1 in. Cap to it and sanded it falt so I could attach a GoPro Flat Adhesive mount. On the bottom side I just used a 3/4 in cap so no water would get into the PVC pipe.

After I had all of the pieces I drilled two holes in the top of the 1 in. PVC cap and the flat Adhesive mount in order to insert bolts for more support. We used two contersunk bolts and nuts to make sure that the Flat Adhesive mount would never come off. After we had all of the pieces we began to attach the pieces together. But first we used plumbers tape on the threaded pieces to ensure there would be no leakage. On the bottom of the handle we attached an eye bolt so we could attach a leash to it so you would never lose your GoPro.

Here are some pictures of what the final product looks like:

I like that. Thanks for sharing. I wish my freinds would get pounded by the surf to get shots of me surfing.

If you wanna make it easier, just get the tripod mount and drill a hole thru the end of the cap and use a 10-24 screw to hold the GoPro tripod mount, then simply attach the camera. No need to glue.

My friend made a very similar mount for his. And I can see we shoot at the same beach!

Some of the better looking pictures we've taken with the base GoPro model.

Does the camera float if you make the handle watertight?

Does the camera float if you make the handle watertight?

For the size of the camera and the cap I have right now it is equally buoyant, but you can always add a larger cap to make it float. I don't really need it to float because I have a leash attached.
