The Art Pinder International Spearfishing Championship -Memorial Day

The South Florida Freedivers will host the First Annual "Art Pinder Int'l Spearfishing Championship" on Memorial Day weekend (May 30th) immediately following the Blue Wild Expo in Fort Lauderdale.

This spearfishing competition will take place in the Bahia Cabana Resort in Fort Lauderdale and is to benefit the Twin Palms Center for the Disabled (Boca Raton Society For The Disabled Inc.).

Fishing area will range from Government Cut to the Boca Raton Inlet-see map of the area.

The entry fee to compete is only $50 per person. Entry fee includes raffle tickets, shirt, food & beverage. There will be trophies for the winners in the different categories.

Pelagics: Cobia, Dolphin, Kingfish, Mackerels, Wahoo, Oceanic triggerfish, Greater AJ, Yellow Jacks

Thanks. Can you confirm that check in is after 8:00 AM on Monday Morning before going out to shoot?

Regular Check-in starts at 8 am, following with an invocation to all the divers. Thereafter the "start" signal is given so the teams can begin competing.

The No Limit category must check in at the Blue Wild Sunday between 1pm and 5pm.

Weigh-in begins at 4:01pm.

Can someone clarify, can we enter the women's division on scuba or is the women's division only for freedivers?

Hello Killer-Mermaid.

Women competing using SCUBA equipment would be considered the general SCUBA category which could be men or women.

The "Women" category applies only to freedivers.

There is not overall individual place, winning is based as a team for each class (women, mens, professional, etc.)
