Day 1:

Went out with trimbandit.
Swell: flat
Vis: 5-8 A local was so excited when we told him this he went to get his stuff so he could jump in.
Game taken: 2 small lings, small monkeyface prickleback, small buffalo sculpin, good sized dungeness crab. Had a nice mfpb get off the spear.Trimbandit gots crabs, a scallop, and a weightbelt.

Day 2:

Solo mission
Swell: even flatter than day 1
Vis: 2-4 Tough to spearfish for sure.
Game taken: a rock crab just to try it, two dungeness crabs, and a lunker of a cabezon. This old fatty had eaten so much squid in his life he was irridescent green, and stood out even though I could barely see my hands.

Local vis is definitely tough to swallow after spending the weekend in San Diego. Nevertheless, playing hide and go seek in the norcal murk was more fun than getting skunked hunting white sea bass while tons of boats zip by me without noticing. Thanks for reading.

Nice dude!!!

dungeness crabs are one of the best tasting sea creatures IMO.

Nice work. Good work in crap vis, for sure. Fortunately, we've got all summer to wait for good conditions.

Dude, you caught the best of it. Saturday was 1 to maybe 3 feet.

You need a bigger cooler fish-bender ;)

I hope the San Mateo coast is diveable next time I visit, it really is an incredible area.

The small cooler makes the miniscule fish that I typically shoot appear much larger.

I'm stoked to check out more spots in that area too. From what I gather, a lot of the spots that are now off limits were big time honey holes back in the day.

Did you dive sat or surf? I took a look today and it looked like a chocolate mcflurry.

Dang it really must have been a good trip.....LOL

Way to slay 'em buddy! Can't wait for you to come back down south again. I got a little blood on the arrows the other day.....

I dove Saturday. My outstretched hand was hitting the sand before I could see the bottom.

Nice catch for the poor visibility. Way to tough it out and get it done!
