Had a great day Sunday. Water started out a little rough but layed down the rest of the day.

First dive vis was kind of snotty. Missed a nice big hog, No clue how i did that. Saw a nice cobia on a stingray but he never presented me with a sure shot. Stuck a couple of hogs and caught some lobster. vis was not real good but huntable. Moved on out to another spot where the vis was much better. Les shot a nice gag and I went berserk on the ledge... Red snapper, flounders, gags, hogs, spineys, slippers, ETC. Full on H.O.D. I really needed that after being out of the water so long from this hurricane crap.

Anchored up on another ledge and caught the hell out of the large hubcap size triggers and nice beeliners. One of the fisherman we brought hauled up a big nurse shark that was released. Les and I both caught nice grouper on rod and reel also.

Got a nice black grouper(?) and some more hogs off that spot as well as some more lobs. When i shot the black grouper the nurse shark we released got all excited and came at me. Bopped her on the nose with the butt of the speargun and she whipped her head hard into the ledge. She cut herself pretty good from the impact and took off.

Great day on the Slay Ride. Capt Les was sippin on his diet coke w/lime and rum on the way in.

Check out the pic, is that a black? it had a very dark square pattern underwater but out of the water it had dots.

That snapper in the middle looks very healthy. How does the flavor of American Red compare to Mutton?

To me Mutton is the Turkey of the sea. Nice big white meat, firm and moist. The only problem is they tend to be a little to smart, just like Turkey hunting.
