I took a buddy of mine to Deer Creek tonight to show him some walleye techniques. Unfortunately he wasn't seeing a lot, so he decided to dive next to me...turned out to be the right dive to be taught. We went down and He promptly shot a carp with a polespear, but it bounced off. Right after his shot, I saw a big silhouette in the darkness. I couldn't tell if it was a carp or a walleye so I let the spear fly just to be safe. My friend kept asking, what did you shoot, but I really didn't know. I finally pull it up, and its a toad! Classic lunker walleye scenario, haha. The thing spanned the length of my trunk. I dont know its exact demensions, but I'll try to check before I leave town tomorrow.

On a side note, I did notice a decrease in clarity. All this moisture seems to have brought us back to 5-8 feet of viz.

Dad gum! Are you fishing near the rail road tracks on Deer Creek?

I didn't weigh it. It was super long, but didn't have the girth to be a really heavy fish.

I didn't get this one on the tracks, although I've done really well there in the past. Surprisingly it was out in front of that first marina coming from Heber

Shane..I was raised in GB. We need to get together and show me around. Just moved out here for work and thought I would never spear till I went back to the ocean. Next time I go back, I'll have to bring my 12' RIB back now that I know we can use it out here.
