We had a hell of a day last week off Florida. It was especially cool because Cam and I had the chance to share our experiences there with a couple of great divers from South Florida (Spearooo and RJVeloso). It is always a treat to show people a new scene. The day started as a trip to shoot Blackfins behind the shrimpers, but with no shrimpers stopped it quickly morphed into the standard fare. We almost never made it that far when the resident nuclear scientist, Cam, locked the keys in the car at the service station at 0500. Proving themselves valuable fishing partners, our Cuban Comrades were able to break into the car in no time flat. Lesson: don't buy a Toyota Sequoia. The conditions for the day were pretty miserable, with less the 20 feet of vis and hard current, 70-80 foot depths and fish pressed to the bottom. All fish were on the bottom, except for the 40lb Cobia I shot while breathing through my snorkle. All in all it looked like this:

11 Mangoes over 10 lbs
1 40lb Cobia
???? 31 lbs
???? 10 lbs
1 hog 4lbs

Rolo, I couldn't post the pics! Show me some love.

Thanks Gerald! I guess you'll be up for the next trip north? I am looking forward to diving with you one of these days. It is always cool to mix it up with guys from a different place.

Great job, guys! The viz in WPB was less than 5 feet on Friday. Seems that 20 feet was enough to fill the cooler!
???? 31 lbs=AJ and ???? 10 lbs=sheepshead or trigger ?

The ??? are just an inside joke of some fish that never made it to the cooler for different reasons. I won't call anyone (or myself) out, but they are free to explain...

Hi Blake, I'd be happy to join you guys on one of your trips. Rolo and JC always seem to have a blast. Like you said, always cool to meet some new faces from different places.

Correction:

It was I who locked us out. Did not know that the Toyotas have automatic locks. No worry, we opened it up in less than 10 minutes.

Cam and Blake are in a league of their own with their freediving capabilities. Diving was not for the faint hearted. Diving wrecks with about 8 foot viz to depths upto 80 feet with stiff currents, but big fish at the bottom.

Here's another pic of the big Cobe Rabispear shot...

The Cobia was STONED with a 110cm Rabitech.

Also, a few Sheepshead also paid the piper.

Damn those are big mangoes. Look like a different kind of fish alltogether.
