Was in a pinch and needed to quickly make a mount for a GoPro to mount to my Wong GR-55 with stuff I had laying around.
I used a spare 3/8" Stainless Push Rod that I had for my Andre Bluewater Guns, and a spare loading tab that I had in my spare parts box and 2 5mm-8 nuts.
I used a 5mm-8 tap and die that I had from doing trim motor repair for a friend this summer.
Started by cutting down the loading tab flush with a Dremel cutoff wheel. Drilled appropriate hole for 5mm tap and tapped out the hole with the 5mm tap.
Took the stainless rod and cut threads in about 1/4" with the 5mm die on one end and about 2" in on the other end.
Screwed the 1/4" side into the cut down loading tab and locked it on from behind with a 5mm nut. Used red Loctite to help lock this end together.
Threaded the other 5mm nut down the other side.
The Nut on the GoPro mount is already 5mm-8 threads.
Mounted it all together, took it out and worked like a charm.
Took it out the following morning and took this footage for the first time using the GoPro, managed to shoot a few fish before my battery ran out.

Yes, it did in the beginning at my first spot....definately moved on my first shot for sure....but after I tightened it up a bit tighter, it held just fine.
