Looking for buddies

I've been diving for over a year. I have recently been going on several freedives for lobster. Didn't have to go too deep to find them.

Last Sunday I took a Hawaiian spear out to cabrillo PV. I got two perchs. Water was clear. Didn't see good sized Calicos. Now I'm hooked!

I would like to tag along with anyone doing reef fishing in the area. I was about to get a cheap jbl gun, was at the shop and a fellow board member adviced to check out this board.

So I did... I will hang on to my pole for a bit more.

Get a Euro gun or a Rob Allen.. they will work great.. I use a 100cm for all my free dives, beach, boat, and scuba.. WSB, Calicos, Sheephead, also I leave the Perch allow. theys really taste like S@#T.. ;)

Eurogun or Railgun is a good starter, unless you shoot the halibuts often get a double flopper

some of the perch taste good. Just have to know which ones.

I am heading back home to Ventura for thanksgiving, I will be there all weekend. I know all the good surfs spots, but where are all the good spear spots. I wouldn't mind meeting up with some people and hitting the water.

Are you guys still getting together for a dive? If so when and where? I'm interested in joining you guys for a dive. I prefer to go Friday after the Thanksgiving. I'll be freediving for lobsters so I'll leave the gun at home, but I really don't mind diving with anyone who spearfishes also.

I have not heard from anyone yet. No day has been pinpointed. And with this new storm that came in on Sat evening....
I know I'm not working Thurs, Sat or Sun. Let the women do their cooking, I and I don't care much for watching football or christmass parades. How about Thrs., you can have lobster for Thanksgiving dinner!

I will be on the road to LA this Thursday and going back to San Jose on Sunday. I could dive on Saturday also, but I will know by Wednesday...family stuff.
