I'm in the process of putting together a new floatline & bungee for a trip in November and found a couple cheap sources for Norprene as well as Dyneema line for anyone who is looking.
They have 3/16"ID X 3/8"OD (AFL00013) for on sale for $35.26 for a 50' roll. That's only $0.71 per foot which is ridiculously cheap  :thumps:

Also APS(edit: just noticed after my original post that they'd been mentioned on here a couple times before) has good prices AMSTEEL-Blue Dyneema line. 3mm 2500lb for $0.48 per foot and 2.5mm 1600lb for $0.30 per foot.

Hope this helps any DIYers out there.

Just had a look but is says $0.04 per centimeter not foot in the product description here http://sailworks.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=94
That makes it about $1.20/foot unfortunately

Josh at Neptonics and Dano at Mako also may be able to sell you a bulk rate on float line and reel lines. They sell all the accessories for building float lines also.

I think the op is talking about making a bungee float line, not a traditional float line.

If he wants to make a regular float line, then these will help. If he wants to make a bungee float line, then I guess the float lines sites will not help. At least he will be able to use the sites for reel lines. And of course, someone else who wants to build their own sets could use this info also. So, if he doesn't need the info, someone else will. :thumps::toast:

I recently lost my 100' neptonics floatline. Been using regular rope since then. Im short on funds so I think making a float line would be perfect little project. I like the bunjee idea as well, I have never used one and want to try it out. I also just got a boat so I will definatly be needing a 100' floatline. Any one have some pics of floatlines/bunjee's you have made?
I have read through this thread and looked at the links, I still don't really understand all the materials I need and how it is put Iogether. Is it cheaper to DIY? Any advice will help, thanks.
