Hey i've recently acquired a few hundred extra bucks from working some side jobs and want to get a gopro. I havn't decided between the hd hero or hd hero 2 yet, but that isn't may main concern.

I am trying to decide which go pro 'package' to buy. I would like to mount the go pro on my mask, which if anyone has any tips on how they did it that would be awesome. i know they have the 'surf', and 'motosports.' i'm thinking of just getting the 'naked' package and buying whatever mounts and adaptors as needed.

I got the surf, which really doesnt help for diving. I think the moto comes with the headstrap mount. I wish I would have gotten the moto package wasn't offered from where I purchased, because I had to but the headstrap later. Be sure to tuck in under your hood if you wear it.

edit, looks like there is an outdoor edition with the headstrap mount.

I just mounted the Flip Ultra HD with Ikelite housing to my Riffe. Only cost $250 total. Many vids online to check out or I took one in the backyard to test recoil. xri's videos do more justice than my new setup, but I did a lot of research into which was better and settled for the flip. No lens switching required and you can customize the camera aestheically. flip.com, ikelite.com

headstrap >> mask mount. Second the putting it under the hood though. My first one was loaned out and ended up somewhere off of kings beach. Woopsies. It's on supersale from a couple of places including the flat lens changeout.

I looked at the mask mounting options and all my masks didn't seem to be able to accomodate the mounting easily. I got the head strap mount for like $15 and it works well and is secure under the hood. I think I would try the headstrap before messing with my expensive mask.

I've been using the hero hd with the mako flat lens for a while now and I am happy with it. I use the headstrap and a gun mount

Don't forget you're gonna need a flat lens. I use the Blurfix lens and there's quite a big difference to the plastic. It's a 55mm machined aluminium lens which will take any filter kit.

Take a look.
