So what was your take on the results?
I am about to order another flat lens and was leaning toward the Mako product...

I am new to underwater photography and GoPro cameras, so I'd be interested in what people think about these 2 flat lenses.
It looks like the Mako has more vignetting or distortion around the edges. Also, about the red filter -- I know red is the first color to disappear, so is this why you might want to use a red filter in shallow water? Are there any filters for use with the Mako flat lens? For deeper shots, do you use a different color filter?
It looks like Eye of Mine only sells a complete housing with flat lens already installed, whereas Mako sells the lens for self-install or gives it away free with the purchase of a GoPro.

FWIW - I've looked at both as well as the BlurFix and ended up buying the BlurFix.
Here is a review - http://goprouser.freeforums.org/blurfix-brand-underwater-adapter-t3581.html
and an installation video - http://vimeo.com/26366669
The high quality of the videos and being able to use standard 55mm filters are what sold me.
Here is the original link on Spearboard that got me started - http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=136987
Good luck with your purchase.
I use the mako flat lens for video and it works well no vignetting in the R-5 mode. From what I can tell that is the mode that is best for me.
I have not used any filters.
This video was shot a few days ago, under less than ideal conditions at a depth of 185 feet, using the mako lens, no filter, R-5 setting and the free software which comes with windows..

I've read all about all aftermarket flat lenses - and chose blurfix adapter - simply because of the fact that you can use red filter and your videos actually will be pleasing to watch and will have real color..
There a comparison on youtube of mako lenses vs. eye of mine and there a side by side comparison of all lenses on my original post.
Plus it has anti fog solution of some kind of chemical balls that soak up excess moisture..

I got Blurfix for christmas. I did some research on that product. I realized that they only did tested up to 130ft. Did anyone tried this product on GoPro below than 130ft?

Has anyone tried to edit go pro pictures with programs like aperature 3, where you can add red filter to bring the color back. I just ordered the blur fix lens and I'm debating on getting the cayan filter.

Where did you buy the cayan filter for the go pro with blur fix lens?
http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/products.html
Scroll down the page. There are two cyan (CY) filters, a standard and shallow water one.
You can also go to your neighborhood camera store and get a cyan filter. Just explain to them the specifics of your intended use (bluewater, green (algae) water, shallow water, deep water, etc.) so they can help you select the correct grade of filter for your application.
Or you could go to an online camera store and order one. You can find plenty of these in photography magazines.
Here, this may help educate you on the proper use of filters for underwater photography. http://aquaviews.net/scuba-guides/using-filters-for-underwater-photography/

I ordered the eye of mine cyan flat lense before I read this review.. I should get a chance to use in the next 2 weeks. I'll post up a report/video when I do. Anyone else try this set up yet?

On the GoPro forum the guys been saying that the red channel is virtually empty in video editing software, and you have to use a cyan filter for color correction..
Dang those filters are expensive. Do they make cheaper compatible options?
