There was a post a while back ago about some techniques or perhaps training aids that will assist you with increasing your freediving breath holds. There is an interesting program at the below listed website. Overall, the website is a spearboard wannabe, and never will be because I have a feeling that political correctness will reign supreme there.
Anyways, click on the below link and you will see a link for a program called "below the blue". It helps you time your SI, number of breath holds, and increase your times all on the surface. Anyways, if you are interested in increasing the time you are depriving your brain of oxygen, check it out. Since I have been using it it has helped me increase my time. I always wonder if it kills off my brain cells doing it, but I can't think of a better way to go.
