flat lens o gro pro hero 2

just bought a mako flat lens for the hero 2 hoping it would clear of the video. I know when you install it on the orignal go pro you take the o ring off the curved lens and switch it to the flat one. On the hero 2 it seems the o ring is sealed to the curved lens. Does anyone know of any info on this?

Mine just peeled off the curved lens with no issues. Installed the O-ring with the flat lens and it worked fine.

was it attached under the lense?

I seem to remember it being lightly glued to the lens. I was just very careful peeling it up to make sure I didn't ruin the ring. So far it has worked great. Only taken it underwater 3 dives but no leaks.
