Sea otter spotted in Long Beach

I understand the photo was taken yesterday, I got it off a whale watching facebook page.

That's no bueno. You know how much lobster one of those furbags will eat? Here is a hint, they don't have body fat, so they have to constantly eat and maintain their fur to avoid freezing to death. The number is approximately their body weight in food per day. A full grown male could be around 90 pounds, so he could consume close to 100 pounds of lobster per day (assuming some waste). I don't think they carry lobster gauges either and can fish all summer. I think you can look forward to your favorite grass beds being wiped out.
