While weedwacking at work today i found a nice area with plenty of these babies. I was out in eastern bonita/sunnyside area when i found them under a tree. with mulch piled around it.

I am pretty sure they are yellow morels. They are hollow inside, inside of stem is fully hollow with no cottony fibers and the cap is fully attached/suppored by the top of the stem. I am quite sure it is not a verpa ,beefsteak, ora half capped morel. I have never had a fresh morel but i am pretty darn certain that these are the real deal is there an experienced shroomer out there that can confirm my suspicions? Any help is appreciated!

I'm no expert but I would say blonde morels. Congrats!

The younger ones ridges are paleish off wite turning progressively tanisher if that makes any sense. I just picked up a case of beer and a couple nice T-bones I plan on giving them the minimum of a lite saute with a little salt dash of pepper and some butter I cant wait!

U did get the co-ordinates of the tree? That calls for a repeat visit, near dawn as the first 'shroomer of the day will get them.

The best part is that it's private property and I work there every day. Its a fruit tree nursurie and my boss wants me to try and propagate them so the next bigones getting spore prints and multiple tissue cultures taken. Morels will be a real challenge for me but Ihave seen techniques for growing them. oyster mushrooms and other specimin species are a lot easier to grow. I cooked them up ate them and have survived so far; Those were the first wild mushrooms I have ever eaten too.
