Took a trip down to San Quintin,Mexico and shot this nice yellowtail.

Nice shooting guys. I assime you got them in the blue water. These fish look just like Ameberjacks. Is is the same as the yellowtail we get in the sushi restaurants? Have you tried AJ's from the Atlantic or the Gulf? Do they taste the same?

These are the same as amberjacks but I heard yellowtail taste better. I'm not sure though I've never had aberjack. The amberjacks get a lot bigger than these.

Nice going on those yellowtails. I would imagine if you miss your kill shot, they'll pull you around pretty good. They've got that AJ profile and tail, which means power.

dem look like yella tailed amba jacks. is that the average size you guys get over there? the majority of our jacks are that size but if you get out to the really good spots you can see schools of 40 to 60# fish.

outa of the yellows i seen. have been in the 10-15 pounds range...but u will find some big ones to! but damn the fight is great and u can make some damn good burrito's and taco's outa them.:D but the greatest part of it is, when u see em and shoot em.my cousin rick dawg is an animal... the 1st one he killed he cut it up out in the water and he ate the whole thing raw!

isn't that the yellowtail that they make himatchi sushi out of, if so, it is not even in the same category as aj- that is some good meat.
not that aj is bad, just not comparable
