I'm 19, from San Pedro, and am planning to go on an East Texas hog hunt with my father, grandfather, and a few other experienced family/friends in about a month. The plan would be to fly out, stay at one of the various "lodges" for a few days, and hope to shoot some pigs. We were pretty dead set on this place (for whatever reason) ( http://www.my-ranch.com/ ) until I recently read a bunch of negative reviews on it despite the awesome pics on the website. The owner claims them to be his competition's doing, but I'm pretty skeptical.

So, my question is have any of you had any recent experience with Texas hog hunting and, if so, what/where do you recommend?

I looked at that ranch, and almost booked for it. Wound up at a place in central Tx.
If you do not expect a guaranteed take, then go and have a good time.
If you have never hunted hogs, best bet would be to give me a call and get some tips on what to expect. (I am sure the ranch will show you the ropes, but there is a lot of details that you only learn by heading to the field.)
Good value for the price.
