Went out today off Pinellas County started on about a 248 out of John's Pass. First dive great vis 25ft to 30ft at 50 ft. Keeper hogs, 1 keeper gag, and my largest slipper lobster ever. Tail alone weighed 1lb 2oz's! Second dive I went to one of my sweet spots in 50 ft. When I hit the bottom I was absolutely amazed, there were fish everywhere. I saw at least a couple of hundred, no I'm not delerious, of gags between 12 and 20 inches! I looked everywhere for a legal grouper, but did not find one. There were schools of spanish swimming through and even a school of 5 African pompano that swam through twice. Small reds, small gags everywhere. Baitfish that covered you so much you could not see through them till you made some motion and they all moved. I didn't harvest a whole lot today, but if the amount of juvenile grouper I saw today is any indication of what is to come, we are all in for some good shootin'. Stay safe, Dan.
