Hello,
Just finally introducing myself here. I've been checking here frequently for a few months and have decided to join since more people from the east coast are starting to participate. Also, if anyone has a open spot this weekend I would love to get wet. I've gottin on trips the past two weekends just to have them cancelled due to weather. Now that the weather looks good it seems all the boats are full. I will go out of Ponce, the Port or Sebastian. Call me (407)376-8329.

You may want to check out the Private Trip section and post down there too.
Welcome to the Board!!

Thanks Rich. I did post down there but I figured that introducing myself would better be done up here where there is more traffic.

I see that. You should make it over to the left coast for some diving too!

Personally, I never go into the individual sections but use the "View Active Threads" link instead. I think a lot of guys do the same, so it's probably all the same.
Welcome to the locker room! Couple of things to remember. First, mods get free beer at all Spearboard get-togethers, (hey, it's worth a shot), and if a guy named Weber asks you to dive behind a shrimp boat with him, say no.

Rich,
I have been dreaming of making to the middle grounds for a dive trip. All the stories on here sound awsome. I have done exactly one dive on the west coast off of Steinhatchee in about 25-30' of water. We were over there to do some scalloping and brought our gear. Unfortunatley the seas kicked up on us (about 5-6' in a 23' boat) and made the experience none to enjoyable. I did my dive, shout 4 hogs (only thing there besides baby grouper) and it was decided we should head in. It was a long boat ride for very little. One of these days I will be able to catch a ride.

Send me a private message ASAP. I help run trips on Jolly Rogers 2 (www.jollyrogerii.com) which has been doing weekend trips to the Middlegrounds for close to a decade. There are a few guys right in your area that frequently do trips with us. Welcome to the Board!

Forget D4B's private message. Give me a ring and I can hook you up on an MG charter. We have one going out next week.

I will be calling you guys soon but I'm going to keep trying to get on some buggin trips over here until March 31. After that the fish are fair game. Do you all go out on the same charter or are there different boats you use? How much for the weekend trip and how many tanks do you bring?

Jesus H Tapdancing Christ are you kidding me, Hermes?!! If it wasn't for my vast dive networking skills you would have never met your partner, thus the Gag Reflex would have never been purchased, and you would have no need to jump all over Gator97dwb like a bad used car salesman:D :D.The MG is 300 square mi. of ocean, I think it can support two dive charter boats.
The JR2 does a full weekend Fri-Sun trip for $375 pp, 5 divers max plus two crew , 6 tanks, two nights of fishing, includes all meals, bait, tackle, and ice. Boat is a 43' Torres twin diesel inboard 17 knot cruise with private head, lots of running fresh water, full kitchen, bunks, TV-VCR, AM-FM/CD player, fully enclosed cabin. The Gag Reflex is $250 pp for a one day trip 4 tanks, 3 divers max plus two crew. Boat is 32' Sabalo single diesel. It has bunks,AM-FM/CD player, bring your own food, bait and tackle. Depending on what you were looking for, BOTH (see John, working together for the betterment of all) are excellent dive boats!!!!
Oh and by the way the website is www.jollyrogersii.com. I forgot the s at the end of "roger".

Thanks for the info guys. Both trips sound fun and it looks like both produce. Hooked up with a guy out of the port Saturday and got beat around fishing with little success. Made out 2 miles from Ponce on Sunday for diving and had to turn around due to the seas. Like the guys said, maybe I am bad karma for the weather. Seems like every time I catch a ride its rough. Good to meet you Dabulltrouble. We should have gone out on your side this weekend.
Divin Fool-I live around the corner from Phil's shop. I think I met you at the pre bash get together at the port. Give me a call when you have open spots.

Divin Fool-If givin a day or two of notice to move things around I can usaully get off whenever I need to unless I am under the gun on a deadline. Diving when you are suppose to be working is some of the best diving there is.
