I have busting my butt at work. 2 weeks, no days off, at the busiest time of the year. Today was to be my day off and the forecast called for a hell of a storm. Just my luck, my only day off and the weather would be crappy and the surf big.
Well, I awoke at 6:45 as the sun was coming up and noticed no rain. Figured what the heck and made the drive to the southside (smallest surf forecast). Got there and it was flat as can be. Jump in the water and although the vis wasn't the best (still about 30+') the fish were plentiful. Seems the storm over the past few days made them come out on this beautiful day to eat. I saw Uku, Kagami, Omilu, you name it. All nice sized. Ended up landing a 6 pound Uhu (parrotfish) which we will be grilling tonight.
Hopefully the gods look down happily on me on my next day off, but at least today made the whole past few weeks seem pleasant!
