10-12-2002, 05:42 PM
I bet it was smooth as hell out there today,I had to work for a few hours this morning. The water was super calm when I drove over the Courney Cambell this morning. It was definitely killing me!!!!

I would love to go on the Venture. I have some KILLER stuff way up north if he can reach it.
10-12-2002, 09:16 PM
Kevin, it'd be great to have you on board. Don't know how far north your numbers are, but unless it's past Bayport, we'd make it fine. Anytime your ready, just say the word. :D

Can you go 100nm out and back on inboard fuel?
10-12-2002, 11:19 PM

Yes, on a good day, no problem. Last Sunday, went out 90 miles in the MG, and burned 171 gallons for the whole trip. The boat carries 300 gallons. Could have probably done even better than that had I not done 38 mph the whole trip. At 32 mph, I can get it down to about 26 gph.
RR, consider your seat reserved.

Do you have a vault on board that I can store my Loran book in?
10-13-2002, 10:44 AM
My Ruger .45 and I volunteer to guard yer numbers! :D Got any fer N.E. Fl.?!:D CAUTION: This vessel's armed guard uses Hydra-Shok 230 gr. "flying ashtrays"!

Scott you just made my day!!
10-13-2002, 01:31 PM
Man, this is gonna be an interesting trip!
10-13-2002, 08:58 PM
This will be a great trip. Don't worry about the loran book, Spear One. There's plenty of lockable dry storage, and I'll stand guard when you're in the water. But, in an abundance of caution, I'll put everything in my bottom machine as a back-up in case your book is blown into the water. :D
Seriously, though, I don't think we'll have any number stealers on board! However, with the time you've no doubt got into your book, I wouldn't fault you for locking it up.

I need to start working on my "number memorization techniques" :D
10-13-2002, 10:06 PM
you need you one of those secret agent gps spy rings:D
10-13-2002, 10:32 PM
Maybe I'll just stay in the boat and let you guys do all the slayin!
10-14-2002, 06:47 AM
What, and miss all the fun????
10-14-2002, 07:59 AM
Well maybe on second thought I will. I have a reputation to uphold you know.
I can't have a bunch of grasshoppers out shooting the master! Ha Ha Ha..........
10-14-2002, 06:00 PM
yea i,d definately like a seat on that trip if there,s an extra one open.i could even call in sick if it was on a week day.keep me in mind scott...dave

Remember what Roy Scheider said in the movie Jaws?
"I think we need a bigger boat"
10-14-2002, 08:25 PM
Anyone have a Contender, another Venture, or Fountain. We could fill two of these boats. Dave, right now I've got six, but you're first on deck. Hope I can get you out again with us.
10-14-2002, 08:35 PM
Keep it under 34 mph and we can take the blackfin. I can't efficiently cruise faster than that, thats the sweet spot. 4 divers, 4 tanks no problem. Double trouble, D4B, Rich, G55 and others will attest.
10-14-2002, 08:38 PM
Yeah, I was planning on running 32 with all that gear on board. A two boat trip! This is getting better and better!

10-14-2002, 09:43 PM
A chance to shoot with Spear One we should make a video!!
10-14-2002, 10:08 PM
Maybe we should move this adventure over to the Atlantic side cause pretty soon the Gulf ain't gonna be big enough to hold us all!!!
10-15-2002, 07:43 AM
Scott, John, If you are trying to fill a second boat, let me know, I'm up for it, are you going to do it weekday or weekend? And, when are you going to give it a try? (sorry I can't contribute a boat).
10-15-2002, 02:27 PM
Have Shafts, Will Travel!
10-15-2002, 03:38 PM
Dan, I already added your name to the list. It's implied that you're going.:D
10-15-2002, 03:41 PM
This is the list I have right now of people who have said they want to go:
1. Spear One
4. Reef Raider
5. Shooter Dan
6. Diver Dan
Eight people. That's two boats right there. Did I miss anyone? This was just off the top of my head.
10-15-2002, 06:00 PM
What about ELVIS!
10-15-2002, 06:03 PM
Starting next Tuesday, we have a number memorizing session at my house, then on Thursday we have a "looking over Kevins shoulder into his book" lesson at Scott's house.:p
10-15-2002, 06:08 PM
It's like one of those old detective movies, where the guy pulls out the tiny camera and starts taking pictures of the documents.:D
10-15-2002, 09:11 PM
Maybe after DEMA we could talk some more about this!!
10-16-2002, 11:01 AM
The Gman is alive. And he doesn't like powerhead use.
Check out the FS post on Powerhead use in the diver's corner.
