Is there a downside to using the flat lens housing for use above the water? I'm thinking about buying a GoPro for use both in surfing and in free diving. Would be great not to have to haul around two housings. I know the limitations of the original convex housing underwater. But is there a problem using the flat lens housing ABOVE water? How would it change my shots?
Thanks for your feedback.

i just got my hero 2 with the dive housing. it has worked amazing for diving. i filmed a few times above water and it has worked great also. everything up close seems perfect but when you pan up and down things in the distance seem to get a fish eye effect. actually has made for some cool footage! give it a try and see what you think.

When I used my flat lens above water, I lost some video quality.. Somewhat similar to using the convex lens UNDERwater instead of the flat lens, but more subtle. Definitely better quality than using the convex lens underwater.
