I don't think Doogie is going to be awake long enough to shoot any fish.

Dont think ya gotta worry about Zack. :D But there was a kid last year that was a helluva shooter, his last name was Kenyon(Brad or Kyle). He shot some very nice fish, and I barely slipped by him for the junior title. I think he was like 20th overall(out of almost 300 people). I talked to him and his dad for afew minutes at the tournament, and they seemed really cool and I'm pretty sure he is still a junior this year. My money is on him to take the title. Unless Zack can beg his way onto the Sandibottom for the SBO, then my money is on him.

Hi all, Just wanted to put in a plug for Ryan Williams. He's a freediver and can really shoot. He's only been at this less than a year and he has shot a few in over 60 feet. If we can find the fish he should be in the running in the junior category.
I hope the weather gives us a break up here. Its been awhile since we've been out.
see ya'll there.

Be careful about putting up accusations like that if you are joking or not ready to back it up. I didn't talk to them very long, but they didn't strike me as liars. But if what you are saying is true than they don't belong in the tournament.

Truth is, I dunno who shot the fish, but if he turns in fish like he did last year(regardless of who shot them), chances are you will be getting dominated. :D

Why was my post deleted? Who put up an accusation about what? You guys know that I was joking about dominating the competition, but Kyle and I really have been practicing all winter in the pool and shallow reefs off of Anclote Key. I didn't shoot on the Kenyon boat last year, but they are very well respected people around here. I would consider Kyle to be my best friend, and I know that he shot all of his own fish. With the GPS numbers that they have (They never lose a hook and line tournament from tarpon to bayport) it's almost impossible to not shoot big fish. They had a 4 man team, and every man placed very close together. They didn't cheat or trade fish from diver to diver. They camped in the Middle Grounds on their huge custom Intrepid for 2 or 3 days, and went through something like 30 tanks between 4 divers. Before, you make accusations, you better be sure. Kenyon is a very well respected name in this area. (ie. Kenyon Dodge, Kenyon Powerboats (Boat and Motor Superstores)...)

Yeah someone was taking potshots about him not shooting his own fish. I'm sure it was just a joke that didn't go over well. As far as "They camped in the Middle Grounds on their huge custom Intrepid for 2 or 3 days, and went through something like 30 tanks between 4 divers," remember that it is a single day tournament ;) I didn't like that aspect of last years tournament, people should not be able to leave the day before IMO.

Hey Chris,

I think we have enough short duration tournaments in Florida already: SPO, SOD, FSDA States, and all the WCC events.

The SBO has a great format, making it uniquely challenging and safer than all the rest.

If anything I'd like to see one of the big tournaments, lets say like the Southern Open, go to a multiple day format like the Hell Divers Rodeo. That was pretty cool having 3.5 days to dive wasn't it? Who could possibly dive more?

It looks like SpearDiverTampa beat out a diver that may have (And his best friend says so) dove more days than allowed?

I don't think anyone has said they were submitting fish speared on the previous days. Only that they were out for a few days, as were many others.

On the first 2 days they didn't shoot at all, I never said they shot on those days. They scouted probably 50-60 numbers in the first 2 days and shot on the last day for the tournament. Looks like all the scouting payed off.

We are going to extend the tournament hours this year, but I'm not sure we could swing a multi-day at this point, even though I personally like the idea, a lot. More diving is good. :D

Headhunter? Ritchie? Kmoose? Spearten? :D

Kenyon's are good people and I'm glad they dive with us. I hear Kyle is doing the State Freedive with us this year.

Rogers on the Kenyon's being good people. Brad hooked me up for a nice ride in last year's Southern Open.

Hey Screen, are you an insomniac? :D
