View Full Version : Spearboard going to new server

Spearboard has been on it's own dedicated server for quite a while. We are now in the process of moving it to a new server with twice the processing speed, RAM, disk space, etc. You should notice the new server is faster.

There may also be some broken links and glitches at first. Please report any problems to spearboard@aol.com.

P.S.: The photo posting is all screwed-up right now, so that is a fix that will need to be made.

Scott,

My PMs are showing as "new" even after I have read them. Is this a glitch with the new server, or something else??

Any thoughts??

Same problem here. Just one of the several glitches I am having to get to. Broken paths, links, etc. The photopost is screwed up, too. Oh well, it will be worth it once those issues are sorted. The new server is a big upgrade.

A few posts that were made last night to the "WSB @ Catalina" thread on the California forum seem to have disappeared. Is this a glitch involved in the transfer? Will they ever reappear?

I have had a half dozen people report missing posts/threads. Yes, that is a glitch, and it appears this happened during the time of the transfer. No, probably never coming back, unfortunately.

Yeah, I know. It's a big PITA. It's taking a while to make these fixes.

My sympathies. We just upgraded predator masters, what a joy that was. Had to do it twice, we were so old we had to upgrade to a newer version & make the final jump from that one. I think we have it mostly working right now, but will likely be tweaking stuff for a while.

E-mail notifications on PM's are spotty at best. Of the last 9 PM's I got, only one sent me an e-mail.

E-mail notifications of new posts to subscribed threads have ceased. I don't mean to be harassing you, but just want to make sure you know.

when I read a pm it doesnt erase the fact I read it. Ie I come back later and still says I have a message. Also it always requires I get a receipt when I send a message.

New server stuff?

:confused: On the member galleries I am unable to pull it up on my puter. So on the new server it should specify pixel ratio etc. in posting to a users gallery and regular photo uploads as well as posts just as a reccomendation

It'll take a couple weeks to get all these issues sorted. I am having to rely on some others for help. We'll get it worked out.
