Is there a limit on how far out we can go? Will we be able to take off in a seaplane from Bay Port?

We may need one just to get far enough offshore to get some viz.
Remember last years viz? Deja vu?

Nole,
My name is spelled B-L-A-K-E G-A-Y-L-O-R-D. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I know you wanted to just go ahead and order that 1st Place Team trophy with our names on it. Thanks.

I forgot- Ritchie Z. wanted me to remind you that he would like his name on the Lesser (than 28'') Amberjack trophy. Is that a category? or even a fish? Uh, nevermind.

Of course it's too early to make a call, but I'd hate to dive in visibilty like we had last year.

Waiting a week could make a big difference in the Gulf, if there's not another cold front.

Personally, I like that it forces everyone to out deep to find vis. Truthfully, it is the only way guys like me will ever have a chance, and I don't have to feel bad that I don't have any spots in 6 feet of water like Ed. It isn't fun when you are making your 100th dive in 60feet to think of people walking around on the flats shooting better fish than you are!

Like it or not, I think the bad vis. evens out the field a bit and turns it into a diving competition more than whose-got-the-best-spots competiton. On the other, I sho' do prefer diving in clear water.

Blake,
I just got off the phone with the pilot, everthing is a go. He is going to be leaving from the keys a 6am that should put him at the maker at about 7:30am. Just in time for the start. Our flight is going to be 3 hours round trip this should give us plenty of time for diving.

Sure hope to see some guys from here beat out Guinovart for a change. It's getting old what that guy does, what is it? Four in a row? Too bad Cameron won't compete this year, he did really well last year for Team Rabitech. I'm going with the Dark Horse for this year, John "Screename" Schmidt! Hope you all have a good time and be safe out there, remember Gene.

Anytime we can get a 13.5 pound gag and a 40 lb cobe in 5 (not 6) feet of water we'll take it. Im not proud. Its kinda nice when you can stand up and call the boat over to pick up your fish. :D I certainly wouldnt like to have vis like that again for anybody. A tournament is just that but it is still supposed to be fun.
Really looking forward to it.
Screen, Ill be sending my entry in tomorrow, hold me a T-Shirt! Large. We'll get one for our observer too, as soon as we decide who it is. Might be a crowd favorite.

Nope somebody already got Zack!

Hey Blake,

I think there may be visibilty on the Elbow, probably nowhere else... it's only 175 feet of water, with a 3 knot current, and about 95 nautical miles on either end of the trip!

Crystal clear? What crystal ball were you looking out of? Yeah, Ed will have a couple hundred yard trip to his spots on the flats.

How far out of Johns Pass did yall go?

Hey Blake, Derek (Cuban Mule) wants to talk to you about a Rabitech.

Ed, I have already alerted the cops to your presence. They are issuing $240 tix to second offenders. Elbow it is then. I'll hook up the downrigger ball for some serious pendulum diving...yeah right! Ed, I am eternally jealous that you can find fish in there. We will follow you out in the sea plane and parachute onto your spots.

I am hosting a Pre-Tournament party at my house on Wednesday the 13th. Bring your own drinks, we will have plenty of good food. Spearfishing videos on the big screen and more big fish stories than you can stand. Last years party was a blast. This years should be even better. PM me for details.

No, but GR and Sasa will be performing their stripper act. Speedos and all. When we asked for strippers last year, that is what they came up with. Cheap or gay? I have no idea.
