My wife and I are looking at coming to the Island in Sept.
Does any one have any suggestions on what Island , where, how much anything to help. This will be our anniversary. We both dive ,I spear. We also like to dine out for dinner but do the other meals on our own. My wife is thinking more about Maui, but we are open to suggestions.
thanks

Everything you said that you wanted to do can be done on Maui.

Remember, Maui No Ka Oi!

I was just talking to my buddy who dives on Oahu and he says that you gotta be really really good to get fish on Oahu because they're so pressured. Meanwhile, on Molokai, you can just divebomb the fish and come home with choke fish.

Maui is good because it has places to go that aren't pressured and it still has all of the nightlife that a lot of visitors want.

Hope this helps. If you need more specifics let me know.

Cheers

Gabe

I second Maui. My mom lived in the islands (Big Isle, Maui, Oahu, and Kauai). Maui is definitely the best combination of them all.

Our diving is great, our nightlife is superb, and the divers here are really friendly. We love taking new/visting divers out with us and showing them the Hawaiian way. Like Gabe said above. It is No Ka Oi (The Best).

Shoot me a PM as time gets closer and we can arrange some dive time. Most everything is done freediving, but their are some spots that you can scuba spear without too much peer pressure. i can also offer you some trip tips (ie. sightseeing, discount misc, etc) I work at the Maui Ocean Center and we are partnered with many places, so I can hook you up for alot of discounts and NO time share presentations. Just one spearo to another. My wife also spears, but would love to kick it on the beach if need be (she's the babysitter....don't tell your wife!)

Stodelle,
Thanks for the help.
We are coming the 3rd week of sept.
Any discounts will really help. We are using freqent flyer miles to get there and are really looking forward to it. What kind of lodging can we possibly get? We are not in to the bar thing but like I said we like to dine out. Will will not want to dive every day, kinda like to check out some sites all so
I have never been out there but my wife has. We have dove the caribean and think that this will be cool trip.
Again thanks for any help you can give us.

Check travelocity and expedia for the best hotel pricing. The West side (Kaanapali and Lahaina) is the main tourist area, but the Southside (Kihei, Wailea, and Makena) are good as well. Definite must eat-ats include Hula Grill and Cascades Sushi bar in Kaanapali, Seascape and Ma'alaea Grill Restaurants in Ma'alaea, Mama's Fish house, and Charley's in Paia, and Da' Kitchen for Lunch in Kahului.
