Our next semnar will be at Bill Jackson's on Saturday April 16th from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The address of the store is: 9501 U.S. Hwy 19 North Pinellas Park, Fl 33782. The fee for this seminar is $35.00. Lunch and beverages will be provided.

The seating is limited for this seminar so please register early if you plan to attend. Call 727-576-4169 to reserve a spot. They will take your credit card number and place your name on the list.

Bill Jackson's is a large "multi use" sports facility and I really enjoy doing seminars there. It is well worth the drive for you out of town shooters who have not made it to a seminar yet. I do not have any more seminars scheduled at this time and we will likely not do any more until this fall.

Hope to see you there,

Kevin

It would be nice if you could have one a couple of days before the SB open. Hint...hint...

I think Scott is considering some seminar presentations (from several individuals) during the Sunday weigh in on Sunday at the SBO.

Ps, doing one a month in advance of the SBO tournament will give you some time to test out your (hopefully) new found skills before the SBO.

Iv'e been to some of your (I think) 1 hour seminars at some other local dive shops in the past. What kind of subjects will you be covering? I'm just wondering if there is a focused subject, or all general topics of hunting.

I try to cover a little of everything (about spearfishing) but sometimes we go pretty in depth on certain subjects like stalking/hunting technique, gap closing and freeshafting. Six or seven hours of information is a lot to absorb for anyone. However, I usually try to concentrate the bulk of the presentation to the "overall" experience level of the audience.

Kevin will you be over at Deep Six in lakeland this year? Have you seen John new building yet?

Maybe, but once the "season" starts, it is very difficult for me to do "out of town" seminars. It takes an incredible amount of preparation to get ready to do a seminar and time is hard to come by after April 1st in this business. I'm sure we'll make it over there later in the year though. I heard John built a very nice pool complex but I have not seen it yet.

See you there, the Biggs' are making the 2 1/2 hour drive as Kevin's seminars are well worth the time to "get educated" All levels of divers have stated they get more than enough info to make attending worth the trip. Hope to continue to learn more about what the facination is to these Biggs' boys..... :D

Looks like we have good group of folks signed up for this semnar. This is a large facility so there will be plenty of room for folks who decide to come on short notice. However, please call the store as soon as you can so they can make sure there is plenty of food for everyone.

I would highly recommend Kevin's seminar. Kevin has a wealth of knowledge and gives an unbiased presentation. Whether you own a SS gun or not, it is worth every penny!!

My son and I are in. We had planned on hitting the water, but the wind isn't cooperating.

See you there.

Great, we love to have the father and son teams attend.

The store opens at 9:30am and the seminar starts promptly at 10:00am. This will give us a little "meet and greet" time before the seminar starts.

I set all my equipment up at the store tonight and we moved the seminar into the large meeting room so everyone can spread out and be comfortable. We are expecting about 40 folks at this time but we have plenty of room for
walk-ins since we moved into the larger meeting room.

We are going to have a great time tomorrow and I look forward to meeting everyone. I'm gonna throw a lot of imformation at you guys tomorrow so make sure you get a lot of sleep tonight so your brain is in "absorb mode" cause your gonna need it to be.

Thanks to everyone who came today. We had a great group of shooters who were very attentive and asked a lot of good questions. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did and I hope everyone got their moneys worth. The time really flew by today and it seemed like we had just gotten started and it was 4:00 already.

Thanks to Bill Jacksons for providing a great venue for this seminar and I'm sure we'll be returning next year.

I would also like to thank Chris.....aka Financial Advisor for helping out today. Chris and I did a little interview session and he shared his "3 shaft" spearfishing technique. Chris also provided information about Middle Grounds trips on the Holy Spearit.

I really appreciate the support,

Just returned from the seminar, after dinner and a couple beers. Had a great time and still trying to soak in everything learned/re-inforced. My son Tim is now seriously stoked to do more time in the water so he can be worthy to receive my current gun (graduating from a pole spear).

Tim now beleives his father and teacher is doomed since he is right handed and left eye dominate.

Kevin, thanks again for a great day of information.

Kevin

Thanks for all of the information you shared. I picked up a number of good tricks from yourself and Chris.

Have you heard any reviews or comments regarding the charter BJ's is running to the Tortugas. I believe its the Ultimate Getaway.

Thanks Again

I have never been to the Dry Tortugas but I believe they run a pretty solid trip.

Don't worry Bob, there is still hope for you. Being right handed and left eye dominant is not an "automatic handicap". However, you may have to develop a little "sighting or aiming" correction in your shooting.

Like I talked about at the seminar, I really don't know for sure why some guys can shoot very well with one style of gun, and the same guy can't hit anything with another style gun. This is one of the great unknowns yet to be uncovered or proven to me. The reality is.........we may never know!

Kevin…thanks for a great seminar. It was time very well spent and pack full of information. Now if you can get the wind to stop blowing, we can try to practice what you taught us. Cary

Kevin,

Many thanks for sharing your knowledge - being a newbie with very limited expeirience thus far, I now feel like I have a great stating point to go out and learn it the right way (Pretty much EVERYTHING I was doing previously was wrong which explains my very limited success). The seminar exceeded my expectations and was well worth the drive from Tallahassee. Thanks again!

Have you ever considered video taping and selling your seminars? I'd love to see one, but it'll be 2 years before I can get down for one

It is a good trip. I am going on my second trip with the UG at the end of the month and my pops has been on their charter a handful of times in the last 8 years.

If you do a search for the Ultimate Getaway on here you will get mixed reviews, I suggest you do so for your own information. The captain and owner won't come on the board due to the bad press he receives. If his booking is any indication of how good or bad his charter is, he has A LOT of repeat customers. Take a look for yourself. http://www.ultimategetaway.net/schedule.html

Good luck, I don't think you would be disappointed if you took the charter, I know I wasn't. The trip was my first spearing trip and I have been hooked ever since.

Yeah, we have taped a couple of them but I was not too happy with the overall outcome. Fishkilla is working on editing them to see if we can come up with something we can live with. I should have taped the Bill Jackson seminar, I felt like we got some pretty good work done at that one. Oh well, we'll try to have something out by the end of the year....maybe!
