If things go as planned I should be staying in Ft Lauderdale from about 27 Sept thru 5 Oct or so. I'm bringing my own boat but am limited by the weather if it gets bad and would do better and be safer with a local dive buddy.

I would be interested in trading some backwater duck hunting(weather dependant) for mallards, pintails ect if the rivers get out or ducks/geese on local lakes if they dont.

Somebody needs to jump on this. Lot less work to take someone spearing than it is to put out, set up, pull in, a good spread. I love duck hunting. Can't wait till the winter when we can get down the shore and start it up.

It's hard to trade duck hunting for Spearfishing, when the best duck hunting in North America is here in Florida and we can go Spearfishing in the afternoons after a morning of ducks.

I think I disagree about the best duck hunting being down there. You'd have to hunt ND or Minn before laying claim to the best duck hunting. I had a blast in ND...

Have you duck hunted down here?

I've never hunted Fl, but I don't think you guys get as many species of birds as the central flyway do you? But I never hear about guys taking trips to FL either. Though it's not far from Arkansas.

I'd say that Florida duck hunting offers the opportunity for a greater number of species than the central fly way. Just no Greenheads with the exception of the golf course grown, non-native ducks. What we lack in volume is made up for in variety.

Don't listen to him, we only have ringnecks and coots. Continue going to our-Kansas and the Dakotas, that is all.....

An average year down here we shoot blue wings, green wings, widgeon, pintails, bluebills, redheads, a canvasback or two, a couple gadwalls, hooded and common mergansers, fulvous whistling ducks, black belly whistling ducks, wood ducks, mottled ducks, shot two black scoters last year (a first), all the ringers you can stand, ruddys, shovelers, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. The only reason we have ever gone out of Florida to duck hunt is to kill green heads and that's it.

These are all lies. Just ring necks and coots here....

Now if you can put people on deer and turkeys then you might have something.

Again, mostly coots and a few ring necks.

I actually shot almost all those up in ND in the two years I was there, with the exception of the whistlers and scoter. You ended up buying a case of beer if you shot a shoveler. We actually shoot a good majority of those ducks here in NJ at the Shore as well. Either way, i'm sure the duck hunting is good. I've just never heard of it being on anyone's bucket list to go hunt.

Either way, we got it all wrong. Sounds like the fellow is in KY and looking to trade.
