Went out with 2 buds from shore where they call it the "pipe" or "pipeline" today. Beautiful weather, but the sets were very close together and there were lots of red tide patches. Saw some Opaleye and Calicos, but it was so hit and miss visually that I opted to just check them out. Good to just get out there though. If you find areas without the red tide, visibility is around 15 ft.
Someone shot a 15 lb butt out there a few weeks ago and saw a 20 lb butt when he was bringing the fish in.
Man, was the water cold... especially on the face when scouting the kelp. :eek:
