Question about the allowed species for the snapper category.
Are all species of snapper allowed? Cubera, Dog snapper, Mutton, vermillion, etc.
I saw there was a footnote about grouper in the rules but did not see anything for snapper.
Other species of legal Grouper may be weighed, as well. They must of course be legal to harvest, and be of a legal size for federal and state waters. Other species might include Black Grouper, Yellowfin, etc.)

Rob,
I was concerned that the footnote would create some confusion, and I probably should have made the same footnote for other fish. But yes, all snapper can be weighed. It can't be to the extreme. Someone might argue a grunt is a member of the snapper family, but a grunt is not a snapper for this tournament. Cubera, mango, red, dog, and even a beeliner (vermillion) is a snapper.
I reary, reary rike beeriners! :D

Hey Screen, I knew that question was coming when I saw you had posted! Negative on the Queen Triggers, and North Atlantic Salmon from the rivers off of Bangor, Maine are not a type of hogfish! :D

Dude, you're lookin' out for me!
I was clearly wrong, you know we never shoot jacks, I just plugged the biggest one I saw and it turned out to be an almaco...If I read the rules correctly, Almaco's are included this year, right?
Rob, it would be really cool if you guys weigh in a bunch of beeliners...imagine the pictures!

Yes, almacos are ok as long as they meet the size requirements. I heard you guys had some nice almacos, and some guys from the rigs, too.

What about glasseye snapper? Is it a snapper, or is it a bigeye? Discuss among yourselves. :D

You see those things in the Middle Grounds on the big breaks all the time, hiding in holes. No, not a snapper (assuming you got one big enough). Anyone ever eat a bigeye?

Yeah, not too bad. I fed it to my 85 y.o. Uncle Joe first and he said it was okay. Into the skillet it went. BAM!

Rob, Hopefully, Tom could take you out and let you limit out on 12 - 14 pound alpha hogs. Just leave all the 20+ pounders there.
Is it too soon to start talking smack? I didn't see that in the rules anywhere.
