Good luck today!
Hope to hear a successful report.
I may have to join the list to get some info for when I visit family up in Portland. What are the summer water temps like?

Viz was too low to see anything except some crabs, some perches and greelings. Water is low 50s in the summer.

Sorry you didn't have better conditions. Thanks for the follow up report.
I am set up to be able to handle water in the low 50's which are our winter temps down here. So I will likely want to do some follow up on locations for my trip this summer. I have driven the coast from Seaside to Newport, and would love to try some spots out along that section of the coast.

I guess I'll try signing up to the list. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the conditions. Where do you spearfishing in Seaside? I am assuming you must go offshore. I head over to Barview a lot and and the occasional trip to newport. I joined your spearfishing mailing list. Maybe we can get together some time on a trip/charter or something.

It was off the beach where the sand meets rocks on the south side of town. The bad viz was mostly what seemed to be tiny shrimps, so I hope it was some seasonal thing (spring).
The article in the statesman journal on spearfishing in Oregon was pretty good. I am thinking of heading out to the Salmon river estuary one of these weekends.
