Hi again diveBabe, I looked at the website link in your post. Is there a set of rules you can post here?

I am curious about geographic restrictions especially.

Thanks, Tony

Here is a link to the rules: http://blog.eboatlistings.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Derby-Rules-EBL.docx

The only geographic restriction is that you are back for weigh-in by 3pm at Harvey Oyer Park in Boynton Beach on Oct. 18th. We are encouraging divers to harvest lionfish in the eastern South Florida area, but there are no restrictions on that.

Prize Breakdown:

Division 1- Quantity
1st Place: 500 cash + Goody Bag (Value= $580)
2nd Place: HunterPac BCD + Goody Bag (Value = $539)
3rd Place: Nitrox Certification Class at Wet Pleasures + Goody Bag (Value = $267)
4th Place: $100 Gift Card to Divers Direct + Goody Bag (Value = $150)
5th Place: Mares Mask and Snorkel Set + Goody Bag (Value = $150)

Division 2- Largest (length measured in cm)
1st: 5mm Full Wet Suit + Goody Bag (Value = $254)

Division 3: Smallest (length measured in cm)
1st: 5mm Full Wet Suit + Goody Bag (Value = $254)

Though I'd say that the ultimate prize is saving our reefs from the damage that's being inflicted by the lionfish so we can continue to dive and spearfish on our south Florida reefs in the future.

Each diver also receives 2 raffle tickets in their registration goody bag (which you will receive at the captain's meeting). There are thousands of dollars in raffle prizes that will be given away at the after-party.

Each diver also receives a tournament shirt, scissors for cutting spines, gloves, coupons to local vendors, a shot glass, koozies, a food ticket for the after-party and more.

The after-party will have giveaways, raffle, games, lionfish tasting, a cookout, and vendors. After-party is 3-7 at Harvey Oyer Park in Boynton Beach.

Have friends that just want to come to the party but don't want to dive? They can purchase Party Tickets here: http://blog.eboatlistings.com/product/party-only-non-diver-ticket/

Glad you like the artwork! Actually, this piece is a painting by a famous (and local!) artist, Peter Agardy (http://www.peteragardyfineart.com/). He is an amazingly talented artist. He's been a big help with the tournament by giving us permission to use his art.

He also owns Saltwater Brewery (http://www.saltwaterbrewery.com/) in Delray (Atlantic and I95). If you like beer and havne't been there you should check it out. They have some KILLER microbrew beers!
